Waiting for perfect conditions means never planting. God doesn't call the equipped. He equips the called.

"Whoever watches the wind will not plant, and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap." A farmer who waits for perfect weather never sows. Churches need volunteers to grow, and many people sit on the sidelines waiting for the right season. That moment rarely comes. Moses felt unqualified to lead Israel. God doesn't call the equipped. He equips the called. The same goes for a job where you know God is moving you on: waiting five years for the perfect opening has a real cost. God usually gives just a few steps of light at a time so we'll rely on Him. Take those steps and more light comes.
What have you been waiting on the "right time" to start?
Click record and we'll pin. All right. I did all that without William having to tell me. This is good. It's a good day. A good start to the day. All right. So, today we're going to go old school and we're going to be in the book of Ecclesiastes, which is um as as uh scholars have it, uh Solomon wrote. So, we're talking about Solomon who had extraordinary wisdom. And we're going to be at the end of the book. I think there's only 12 chapters in Yeah, there's only 12 chapters. We're going to be in chapter 11. We're going to be in chapter 11 and we're going to be in verse 4.
Um verse 5 is also pretty good, too. And it kind of talks about verse four, but we're just going to stay in verse four. So, let me read it. It says, "Whoever watches the wind will not plant, and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap." So what on earth is Solomon talking about? So we've got an agricultural uh example here which of course was common. Um there were a lot of farmers in the day. We we didn't have a lot of YouTubers back then or or or uh you know it guys. So uh so we use a lot of agricultural analogy. So whoever watches the wind will not plant and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
And so we can look at this in a lot of areas in our life. And I'm I'm going to I'll give you two examples and then of course you guys can you can roam it because this applies a whole lot of places. So uh if you if you attend a church, let me be the first one to tell you as a guy who's um uh they call me a highle volunteer. So I I get like I get like backstage pass access. It's really cool stuff. Um uh any rate, so I get to see a lot and one of the things I learned about a church that maybe I didn't know, you know, is just starting out like maybe Clyde is and that is it takes a lot to make a church run like a lot.
Like there's a lot there's a lot of moving parts. There's a lot of pieces and in order for a church to grow, it needs a lot of help. It needs a lot of support. Needs a lot of volunteer. Needs a lot of people who are willing to step up and help out. And uh and our church um is a big church. It's a mega church and we've got uh eight locations and about they're about to make an announcement for our ninth location. And the way that it grows is because they they play a big importance on what's your work, what are you how are you serving your church body?
And so we have a lot of volunteers and we need more. And so but oftentimes this is what people do. Uh maybe they might even been going to church for a while. Maybe going to the same church for a while, but yet they're just not sure what what they should do or they feel a little I don't know where I should be or I got to think about that some more. What does Solomon say? Whoever watches the wind will not plant. So what he's saying here is there's never going to be a perfect time. If you're waiting for the right perfect stars are aligned, I'm in the perfect season, all the everything is right, you're going to be waiting a long time and your serving is going to be delayed.
And that's the work that God's got for you. He says, "Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap." So if you're if you're waiting for the perfect scenario, you're you're looking over to this to see, well, I'll do it when that happens and that's outside of your control, you shouldn't you should not wait. You should dive in. Um Moses felt completely unprepared to lead the Israel nation out of bondage. So So and he wasn't he didn't have the skill set to do it. He was he's not a great speaker. He wasn't a motivator. That's not who his that's not what his skill set was to begin with.
But God didn't care. So what what you guys have all heard this he he doesn't call the equipped. He equips the called. So all you have to do is take a step and then he'll give you what you need. And so that's a church analogy for you. There's another analogy. You uh you you're not happy with your level of income. Maybe you like your boss even. maybe he's a great guy. You know, you really like where you're at. You're just not making the money that you want to make, but you're complacent. And so, you're gonna wait for the right opportunity. And before you know it, five years has gone by.
And if you're not making the income you want to make, multiply the difference between where you are and where you think you should be. And then multiply that times five years. And how much have you lost? Why? because you were waiting for the right opportunity. God wants you to move. Maybe he's maybe God's who's laid it on your heart that this is not where you need to be. I've got a different place for you. I've got a different job for you. I've got a different company that I want you to work for. I've got a different role for you. I don't like what you're doing right here.
I want you to do something else. Maybe that takes some extra training or skills, but you're waiting for the right perfect opportunity to take advantage of those things or to do those things. And what Solomon is saying is if that's what you're waiting on, you're wasting a lot of time. Don't take a step. Take action. Stop waiting for things that are outside of your control. Start start taking steps. Start start moving. God only gives us so far to see. And he does that because he wants us to rely on him. So he only gives you a few steps worth of light.
Take them because those few steps will move you and then the light will open up a little more and then we'll move you a little more and then open up a little more. And so whether you want to use this passage as what am I doing to help the church grow? What am I doing for the body of Christ? Am I serving at my church where where I should be or when I should be? or am I providing for my family in the way and the manner that I should or am I being complacent and I'm waiting for the perfect time to put my resume together. This is what Solomon is talking about.
He's saying if you're waiting for those things, you're going to miss the boat. So, all right, thoughts, comments, suggestions. Yeah, I got to tell you, since uh I gave up, not gave up yet, but uh I'm changing my music uh genre and I played a band around Sarasota County, blah blah blah, and and it's it's all fine and dandy, but it's not the calling I want since I got introduced to this gospel blues. So, I just put it out there. And you'd be surprised how many musicians run when they hear the word gospel added to blues. But the ones that don't, those are the ones that I'm talking to right now.
And it's going to happen. It's going to be a gospel blues production. And I'll be leaving the so-called secular bar and routine. And I can't wait because that's all I've done was just put it out there. That's awesome. And we're God. So, anybody that knows anybody that knows any Christian musicians, it doesn't matter what type, I want to talk to them. So, the uh the pastor at our uh location, they don't want us to use campus anymore. The pastor our location is uh Christian Stevens uh and uh Stevenson, and he was the uh founder and lead singer for Anne Berlin.
So, if you don't So, if you don't know what that is, go look it up. and and Clyde, I can connect you guys to the two of you together uh uh from a you know from from a music and a and a and a and a walk perspective if you want. Absolutely. Yep. All right. Uh anybody else thoughts, comments? It's a great message. It's a great Well, yeah. Go God. And and and I I just want to I I maybe I didn't say it and I want to. I think it what Clyde just described is exactly exactly what Solomon is talking about here. And hopefully what hopefully what today was was a confirmation for Clyde that God hears you, that he sees you, he knows what you're doing, and he's going to make a way and a path for you.
Yes. And maybe that's exactly what today was for. Maybe this was for Clyde. Maybe it was for for the rest of you as well too. But but certainly Clyde just embodied exactly what this verse has to say. Anyone else? Jen just walked in. She missed the whole thing, but she says hello to everyone. All right. Well, then if no one else has anything to add, let's uh let's go to prayer. Let's bow our heads. Father, thank you so much for today. Thank you for for just sweet, amazing, short, wisdomfilled passages that literally apply in every area of our life.
Lord, I know I only use two examples how how we can use this verse to to serve better at our church. I know we use this verse that how can I improve the quality of my life through my income. But that we Lord, we know this verse could be used with relationships. This verse could be used with with training and bringing up our children. This verse could be there's just so many applications for this verse. And so, Father, I pray that that we we take that that that lesson that we learn in meditation. And this would be the verse, Father, that we that we think about, that we meditate on, that we we dive in, that we uncover, that we that we write the list of how many ways that this verse uh when we listen to it and we write it to our heart can impact every day, every week, every month, and the rest of our in our lives.
And so, Father, I pray for that. Lord, watch over us as always today. guide us, continue to instruct us, continue to allow us to be able to make the first part of the day the the time that we give to you, Father. We we just we love you. We thank you. We we're so grateful for the Holy Spirit that you've given back to us to guide us, to correct us, to encourage us, to keep us safe, to watch over us. Father, we just thank you, Lord. Guide us in our in our thoughts today. Uh keep us safe. continue to move us forward. We love you. We praise you. And as always, in your son, Jesus name we pray.
Amen. Amen. Amen. A good one, guys. All right, all we'll see you guys tomorrow. Have a great day. Hey, was that chapter 114, Dwayne? It was chapter 11 and verse four. Yes, sir. Thank you. Thank you. Yep. Bye, guys. Bye, guys.
