The idea

Paul writes in the first person: "I have been crucified with Christ." Religion says climb. The gospel says you're being carried, because the work is finished. Christ living in you doesn't erase your personality or your Mondays. What goes away is the scorecard: the need for approval from people, or even for God's "well done" as something to earn. You live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. It's personal. He did it for you, by name.

Take it with you

  • Stop keeping score with God.
  • Take it personally: He did this for you.
  • Live today by faith in Him, not by what you've earned.

Reflect

Where are you still trying to earn something that has already been given?
